Donald Trump is fully aware that he won’t win, but he’s okay with this because he’s never had any intention of winning. He is using his 2016 run as a means of advertising the brand that is “Donald Trump.”

The entire premise of this article rests on shaky ground, which is the reason for the 1 star review. The author argues that Trump is not a serious candidate but is only running for president to 'brand' his name. We cannot know the motivation of others, unless we're really close to them, and even then we cannot be sure. Unless the author is a good bud of Trump's, these 15 pages are pure speculation and guesswork, based on ... what? Perhaps one day when he and Donald were watching a football game, drinking a beer, Donald leaned over and whispered, "Lemme tell you what I'm going to do." Unlikely.
The author is clearly a Clinton fan and I suppose he wrote this to convince as many people as possible that they shouldn't vote for Trump because they will only be wasting their vote. "Unfair!", you say? How can I know why Hoban wrote this article? Exactly. I can't be sure of his motivation any more than he can know Trump's. The best evidence we have for discovering motivation is action. Based on his actions thus far, Trump IS a serious candidate who believes he can become president and this author wrote a book to disparage Trump - hence the title.

Patrick Hoban has a bright future in politics. "The Art of the Quack" is deliberate, articulate and insightful. Many readers will enjoy and all will ask for more.
A well cited, well thought out read.
The thoughts build upon themselves as the author takes you from start to finish through his reasoning as to why Donald Trump is running for president.
The author uses evidence from Trump's history as a business owner and real estate mogul to support his assertion that brand recognition is the ultimate end goal.
Interesting point of view on Trump's "political" campaign. Hopefully Patrick is right and we can take Donald Trump for what he is, entertainment.
Patrick Hoban does an excellent job conveying what much of the American population dismisses as common marketing and advertising tactics by Trump, who is in search of continuously expanding and propagating his brand name even more globally. Highly recommended read, whether you do or don't support and advocate a particular party affiliation and ideology. Hoban is humorous and insightful in his thoughts to establish credibility. Fantastic writer and individual, in person.

I found myself staying up way past my bedtime reading this. My only regret is that I finished it so quickly and it wasn't longer.
I thought, despite a few grammatical errors, it was a well thought out and thought provoking read. I eagerly await more from Patrick.
